IDW at C2E2 and Diamond Retailer Summit This Week

Running alongside the retail debut of the on going Sonic the Hedgehog series, IDW will be attending the Diamond Retailer Summit as well as the Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo (C2E2).

#1 Diamond Retailer Summit
Issue #1 Diamond Retailer Summit Tyson Hesse

The Diamond Retailer Summit is an industry convention run by Diamond Comics Distributors, the largest distributor of comic books and other collectibles in the world. Running from April 4th-6th, it is open to those who work in the comic retail business and stores that attend will be receiving “Thank You” packs directly to their store which include various exclusive variants and other collectible items.  This includes a Sonic #1 variant from IDW.  It will be a black & white variant of Tyson Hesse’s A cover. Be sure to check your local stores in the coming days!

Issue #1 C2E2 Tracy Yardley

Likewise, this weekend from the 6th-8th, C2E2 will be underway in Chicago. IDW has just posted their schedule on their website. Although, none of the Sonic creative team are confirmed to be in attendance, IDW will be selling another convention exclusive variant at booth #613. According to the image shown in the WonderCon early release, it seems to be a black & white variant of Yardley’s B cover. For the average fan, it may not be notable due to the fact that it is identical to the WonderCon 18 variant except that instead of “Convention Exclusive” it says “Convention Exclusive Cover”.

If you missed out on some of the hottest exclusives at WonderCon last weekend, you’ve got another chance to fill out your collection! IDW will be set up this weekend at Chicago’s C2E2 from April 6 – 8. Booth #613 is where you’ll be able to pick up a brand new variant cover to Sonic #1, along with the variant covers that debuted at WonderCon including Ghostbusters: Crossing Over #1, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #250, the Star Wars Forces of Destiny cover packs, as well as the Clue and Star Trek Mirror Broken Variant Trade Paperbacks.
